Potatoes in tomato Sauce Viazi vya nyanya

Ingredients

  • 250g or 1 lb potatoes, peel and cut into egg size pieces (use 250g if you want to have more sauce.
  • 1 cup chunky carrots cut
  • ½ cup chopped onions
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp ginger crushed
  • ½ tsp saffron/ turmeric (optional) Add with ginger
  • 2 cups chopped tomatoes
  • 1/2 chicken flavor cube (optional) Add when adding tomatoes
  • 1 cup peas
  • 1 tbsp crushed cilantro leaves
  • 1 tsp whole cumin
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 cups chunks cut of cabbage
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • Goat pepper (optional) Add when you put potatoes.
  • Salt
  • Vegetable oil / ghee
